Middle and Senior Team Swimming Sports
On Friday 11 March, the Middle and Senior classes (Totara, Tawa, Nikau and Kauri Pod), took part in the annual Hautapu School Swimming Sports event. Students took part in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly events, competing against others in their age group to be considered for Full Primary (Y7-8) and Town (Y4-6) swimming competitions. The day was a resounding success, with school houses (Waikato, Hautapu, Maungatautari and Karapiro), competing in the always popular House Relay, with Waikato House taking out 1st place.

Update: We are thrilled to announce that Spencer Cleland (Y7) picked up numerous placings in the Waikato Full Primary Swimming competition on Wednesday 16th March, held at St. Peters Private School. Our Y7 Relay team came in 4th place - an excellent result from Leila Walker, Alex Cooper. Brylee Deacon and Spencer Cleland.

Monday 7 March
Outstanding Success : Liam McKee
Check this amazing kid out! With a rocky start to the day, falling a meter before the finish line in the 200m sprint, this awesome kid (Liam McKee) picked himself up and went on to win high jump, beating his personal best by 18cm, 400m, 100m and the 4x100m boys u 13 relay! Liam was also picked to represent Waikato/BOP in the National Youth Inter Provincial Athletics Championships, held in Dunedin during the Easter weekend.
Liam was the talk of the day with parents and officials introducing themselves to the family, commenting on how they have heard about Liam's speed, and with the athletes wondering where this kids come from and how fast he is.
Words can not explain how proud we are of our Hautapu future Olympian, Liam McKee! Congratulations young man!
