Services

Book Club

Scholastic Books enables us to run a Lucky Book Club at school and regularly sends home flyers enabling you to select and order books through the school.  Orders generally take several weeks to be delivered.  When ordering books through Scholastic Book Club, please make cheques out to Scholastic New Zealand. The school receives bonus points from all sales to purchase books for school use.

Dental Clinic

The Mobile Dental unit visits the school during the year.  The phone number for enquiries is 827 6501, which is the Cambridge Primary Dental Clinic number.

School Banking

Banking is every Tuesday from 8.00am – 8.30am with the National Bank of New Zealand.

School Bus

The school bus operates daily leaving Opal Glass at 7.25am, and 7.30am at the corner of Wilkinson Place and King Street, Cambridge, arriving at school at approximately 7.50am.  The bus departs school at 2.45pm to Cambridge Middle School, Clare Street, Cambridge.

All children travelling by bus must follow directions given by the driver, and remain seated at all times.  Each part of the run has a pupil who is a bus monitor and this person helps oversee the pupils during the run.  The school reserves the right to exclude any children from the bus if their behaviour is unacceptable.

There is a bus fee for children who are not eligible (to be eligible you must live more than 3.2km from your nearest school, Hautapu being your nearest school) and has been set at $60.00 per term per student.

School Lunches

'Pie Day, Friday'.  Orders in school foyer on Friday mornings.

School Newsletter

The School’s newsletter “The Hautapu Flash” is published every second Monday and is sent home with the youngest child at school from each family.

The newsletter is an effective communication tool and advertising agent for the school and community.  It allows us to welcome new families to the area, send birthday greetings and to recognise special cultural, sporting, academic or other achievements of the pupils or their parents.  All material for newsletter publication needs to be in the office by Wednesday 2pm, so as not to hold up the publishing on Thursday.

The back of “The Hautapu Flash” is taken up with sponsors names and logos – please try to support these and other groups that sponsor the school during the year.  There are many things made possible with their assistance.

After School Care is provided in the school house by Atmosphere.
