Welcome to our classroom page! Nikau class is full of children who are enthusiastic about thinking and learning! We have had an excellent start to the year getting to know each other and deciding on our classroom values. Our theme for term one is "Inclusiveness." Children in Nikau will be learning about the importance of inclusiveness, what this word means to them and the part they play in our learning community here at Hautapu School. Our main focuses for term one are as follows: Home Learning- Building a self-regulated learning attitude. Health & Physical Education- Swimming, triathlon, fitness and co-operative games, mediation skills for problem solving. Bio Technology- Connections to living food. Environmental Learning- Sustainability. Social Sciences- Enviro garden. Maths- Statistics/place value/basic facts/decimals/addition and subtraction strategies. We look forward to an exciting year full of learning and awesome experiences!
